TWBiz is reporting that DC shoes is getting ready to launch the first pro-model for newly signed PJ Ladd, currently being called the PJ S LX (not sure if that name will stick).

The big news however is that the article is reporting a suggested retail of $130. We’re not sure if that’s a typo or a legit asking price. If it’s the latter, you can firmly put the PJ as the most expensive skate shoe we’ve ever seen hit the market (if you know of any more expensive releases, please let us know).

By pricing these in Air Jordan territory what does it mean??? Well, we think DC is putting a lot of tech and high quality materials into this shoe (180 airbag gel insole, fully molded collar, high-end full grain leather + their Super Suede Plus in the upper), and it trying to test the market to see if anyone will pay that much for these features. They see Nike, Supra and others charging $80+ for P-rod’s, Skytops, etc. so maybe there’s a little one-upance playing a part as well.

Either way, it’s one expensive shoe and whoever plops down the cash better be happy with its comfort, performance and styling. We’ll see this Spring whether the PJ lives up to its price tag.
